Every Thursday we throw it back to one of our favourite weddings from the print archives, so we can share the love online, too. Today, we have Genevieve and Kyle’s gorg Perth wedding, which appeared in issue 38 (you can shop your copy here). “Pink, red and peach tones mixed with whimsical, bold, unique and modern flavours” was the inspo for this stunner of a day, shot by Flossy Photo. “Floss was killer, and made the world’s most awkward feel at ease and captured really natural moments from the day, effortlessly,” says the couple. THE VENUE “We were pretty set on getting married in the South West as we spent our first New Years together back in 2010 in Yallingup and we’ve always loved our holidays down there. We also wanted an excuse to make it a full weekend celebration, so we checked out a bunch of venues but the honest, the intimate vibe of Arimia really resonated (and Evan’s incredible menu) which made it an easy winner for us.”
FAVE DETAILS “Our florals (!!!) by Eden at Freakhaus and styling by Jess and her team at Bertie Does. I’d followed Eden for a few years on socials and fell in love her strong vibe, so I had complete trust in her. On the day we had so many lovely comments about our flowers and our dreamy tree-scape! Jess was a dream to work with and answered every silly question we had with a personable, professional approach, and was a curative genius on the day. The best decision we made six months into planning it on our own was to get a planner and if it is within your budget, it is definitely worth it.”
THE DRESS “My dress was by Perth designer Maevana and was purchased from Liz at NOA Bridal. I initially did a bunch of research on Instagram and Pinterest to figure out what style of dress I was swaying towards whilst also looking at various bridal boutiques on Instagram. NOA was a stand out for me, Liz’s boutique has a beautiful contemporary feel and her designer selection really grabbed me!”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “The whole day was amazing. There were nonstop smiles and hugs. If we had to choose, definitely our Welcome to Country by Zac Webb- we couldn’t have imagined the day without this and we were so honoured to have had him there.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Got a videographer [Wild Feathers Creative]. The videos bring out a different perspective to the day that we wouldn’t have been able to experience otherwise, and gives us the ability to be transported right back to the day whenever we rewatch it.”
