You know we love a good garden party here at Hello May, and my oh my this one is DIVINE! For Alex and Conner, who have been doing life side-by-side for 11 years, it was love at first sight when they laid eyes on the Hunter Valley’s effortlessly elegant, lusciously leafy Krinklewood Estate. Mere moments before their visit, another couple had postponed their nups, freeing up the date for Alex and Conner. Talk about fate!
Captured by the sensational Sarbo Studio, we are in love with every detail of this joyous day: the tennis court portraits, Alex’s super-cute second dress, The White Tree’s party-inducing beats, and, of course, fur-baby Gigi! MEMORABLE MOMENT (Conner) “My favourite moments are the first look and the photos with Alex before the wedding ceremony. We were also lucky enough to get some photos with our family and close friends before the rest of the guests arrived.” (Alex) “I have two favourite moments, the first being our first look photos with Conner and our dog Gigi; it was so special to have her there. My second was our first dance, with all our guests singing along to our song, Everywhere, by Fleetwood Mac, while we danced.”
THE DRESS “My dress was from KYHA Studios, [it] didn’t take long to find at all. I always knew I wanted something high-neck with a low back. The dress wasn’t on my list to try on, so I am so thankful the girl at KYHA Studios got this one out for me to try.”
LITTLE LOL “We had a few confused guests attempting to RSVP to the wedding. The RSVP website we used happened to have another wedding for ‘Alex and Connor’ occurring around the same time. However, it was a slightly different location as this wedding was taking place in Ireland. A lot of people spell Conner’s name with an ‘or’ rather than ‘er’, so we can see where they went wrong. [One the day], during our ceremony, when Conner said my name before handing me my ring, I thought I heard [him say] ‘Alexander’ not ‘Alexandra’. I called him on it, and everyone couldn’t stop laughing for a few minutes. He was a little embarrassed and maintains he said, ‘Alexandra’.”
MARRIAGE MEANS… “It was always something we had planned to eventually do to formalise our relationship. We originally wanted to elope but decided on a wedding to celebrate with our friends and family. I joked with our celebrant that marriage means being able to have the same last name as our dog Gigi, oh, and also Conner. That got a mention at our ceremony and a laugh from all our guests.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “We feel like every vendor went above and beyond on our day, especially [considering] how hot and humid the day was! A big shout-out to them all! Extra special shout-out to Sarah (Sarbo Studio); our wedding photos are the BEST! We can’t even put into words how thankful we are. Sarah really got our vision for the whole day.”
