Welcome to throwback Thursday, friends! This week we have some solid gold to share with you – Jess and Alex’s fun wedding in the beautiful Haweksbury region NSW, which originally featured in our 2021 Real Wedding Special. Friends since they were 14, these two lovebirds “finally connected on a romantic level” when they were 19 and have been together ever since. “A while in the making, but I like to think I was worth the wait!” Jess tells us. Their lucky wedding party received gifts from our mates at Peggy and Finn, while the pair had the good sense to put the fab Janneke Storm in charge of photos…
THE INSPO “Both Alex and I are low-fuss people, who truly spark joy in the smaller things in life. We enjoy nature and new environments and wanted to have a day that encapsulated that through affordability, the Aussie bush, lots of booze and practical details like donning boots over heels.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “As long as there is warm food, cold drinks and good music, nothing else matters!”
A TOUCH OF TRADITION “We decided to include the lighting of the candles in our ceremony. We had three candles, one held by Alex’s parents, one held by my parents and Alex and I held the third. Our parents’ candles were lit and together lit Alex and my shared candle to represent the two families coming together to create another.”
MARRIAGE MEANS… “Marriage is hugely significant to Alex and I both spiritually and individually. It truly signified a promise and unity that I have never experienced prior. Our love and trust in one another has deepened exponentially.”

To have someone I trust on both a professional and personal level, shoot our wedding day meant the world to both Alex and I.
