When we came across this oh-so-lush shoot with pops of fizzy orange, rusty red and tangerine touches, you just know it was love at first sight. Styled and planned by Coastal Elopes, the shoot transformed one of the Gold Coast’s most picturesque venues, Tall Trees Tallebudgera Valley, just 15 minutes from Burleigh Heads, into a long lunch wedding (very on-trend) that highlighted the natural beauty of the historic grounds. “During the first week of June, our property features the most magical colours of reds, oranges and yellows. Our vision was to create an elopement to compliment this beautiful time of the year,” says venue owner Danni.
The ultra-clever Coastal Elopes also pulled together an absolute dream team, including Creative Wedding Co. on pics. Être Marié Bridal supplying the gowns, Bee’s Blossom Floral Studio making magic with blooms and The Whole Bride providing the silks and their signature confetti. Scroll on to hear from the legends that made it happen and for all the drop-dead gorg photos…
Originally known as St Helens Farm, Tall Trees was established in the early 1900s and was one of the pioneering properties in Tallebudgera Valley. Nestled at the base of Mt Tallebudgera, the current homestead and cottage were milled on-site from local timbers in 1947 overlooking Tallebudgera Creek Dam, which runs from Springbrook National Forest through to the stunning Burleigh Headland. Current owners Dannielle and Damian have lovingly brought back to life the incredible 400square-metre Wedding Hall adding a new chapter to this historic building. “Our vision was to create a journey where couples can make their own piece of history. When we first saw the property, we fell in love with how you feel totally immersed in nature,” they say. “With historic stables and grounds that share the surrounding view of the Cougal Ranges, the venue offers the opportunity to host your ceremony, photoshoot and reception within one private estate.”
Teaming up with venue owners Danni and Damian to bring this long-lunch vision to life, Katie from Coastal Elopes, who offers up bespoke elopement and wedding services on the Gold Coast and surrounds, says of the shoot,“We are so happy how this turned out and have so much appreciation for all the talented vendors involved. We used only local Gold Coast vendors and catering from the Burleigh Pavilion who source local produce for a grazing-style long lunch. These beautiful photos can now be part of showing future brides and grooms what an elopement or micro wedding can look like here. ”
The super talented Belle, head flower fairy at Bee’s Blossoms, jumped at the chance to play with citrus colours and incorporate textural elements like dried fruit on this shoot. “I usually work in soft and feminine pastels so I was super excited to do something a bit different from what I normally create,” she says. “I was inspired by textural branches and the beautiful autumnal colours in the maple leaves at the venue. I wanted to ensure that the designs were in my signature ‘handpicked’ and unstructured style but still complemented the space. Organic mini mandarins, dried citrus and rambling branches were some quirky elements that enabled me to create a design that was intentional and had movement.”
We are big fans of this Gold Coast bridal boutique – owner Georgia is a star and stocks the most gorg pieces for brides who want to go their own way – so we loved seeing the Luna Delilah Bride Delilah Gown and veil included in this epic day! “Delilah is an ode to the simplicity of vintage designs, conservative and comfortable enough to wear all night. Featuring bell sleeves, buttons entirely down the front and a tea-length hem,” says Georgia. “The frilly four-metre veil is for the modern bride who loves a vintage touch!”
Our love for this one-stop wedding shop knows no bounds. For this shoot, The Whole Bride supplied the silks to tie off the magnificent bouquet as well as their signature confetti, which is a firm fave amongst HM couples – bio-degradable (which means good for the Earth) and looks bloody epic in all your big-day photos. Get on it!
LITTLE GREEN LEAF
While classic and chic neutrals will never go out of fashion in the world of stationery, the curved edges and pops of gold jazz up this elegant typeface, so that these menus and invitations make a statement of their own.
CHAMPAGNE WALLS GOLD COAST
We all know by now that champagne towers are a trend here to stay – what’s not to love?! Not only is the champagne flowing freely (tick) but the epic photos are always worth every drop that doesn’t make the flute! But for the non-bubbles drinkers, we are loving this super-cute refreshment cart. Styled beautifully to embrace those maple leaf shades, a cart set-up for (in this case) water is practical to boot (also tick).
Now with all that in mind, scroll down and start pinning people! You can also head to our Directory for more from the talented Bee’s Blossoms, The Whole Bride and Être Marié Bridal Boutique. Phew. Ok, you know what to do…
