During Pride Month, Danni proposed to her long-time love Amelia with the help of their pet cat. After their usual Saturday morning coffee run, Amelia noticed their kitty’s new rainbow collar had a rather sparkly diamond attached to it! A year-and-a-half-later, these two lovebirds celebrated with a big party at The Line in their hometown of Footscray. With the help of the event planning/styling legends at Good Day Club, they converted the raw warehouse space into a unique and intimate event with vintage vibes and pops of neon-bright colour, just as the gals had imagined. The wonderful Dee from Finder Seeker took some epic snaps, scroll down to see.
THE OUTFITS Danni: “My experience finding a dress was amazing – Made With Love Bridal made me feel so comfortable. I went in with a pretty clear idea of the dress I wanted but after trying on other options I knew I had fallen in love with the dress I hadn’t expected! My advice to any bride looking is to stay open-minded.”
Amelia: “This was the one part about getting married that I was least looking forward too! I’ve never felt like myself in a dress and so I was adamant that on the most important day of I life I just wanted to be comfortable and feel like me. My Effie Kats suit was comfortable and made me feel beautiful and feminine in my own way. When the party started I changed into my Bowie Rae Malua bridal top and put my high-top Converse on and felt completely myself and able to dance the night away! “
FAVE DEETS “Our flowers and cake were both the highlight details from the day. Flowers by Allie did an incredible job translating our vision into real life with bold colour choices. Louie from Digby Cakes is so good at making cakes that not only look amazing but taste amazing too.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “Our favourite memory was the ceremony itself. It’s the most important part and everything else becomes background noise when you are finally standing there and taking it all in. Having someone close to us as our celebrant felt intimate and laid-back, it made us feel like we could be ourselves and less nervous. Looking back we probably kissed a few too many times during the ceremony!“
LITTLE LOL “Not sure if we are laughing about it just yet, but forgetting the rings and having to turn back for them might be funny in a couple of years! Lucky we chose a local venue in the end.”
MARRIAGE MEANS “I think marriage never really crossed our minds until the plebiscite happened. It felt pretty important to us that we acknowledge every one who fought before us. We feel lucky to have each other and what better way to celebrate that for the rest of our lives. It’s also nice ticking the married box on documents.”
STANDOUT VENDOR “Dee from Finder Seeker. We had seen her talent online and were quick to lock her in for our special day and we are so grateful we did. She was amazing to work with from the very first meeting. Being both a bit camera-shy, it was something we were anxious about and Dee was quick to put us at ease. Our amazing photographs are something we will cherish forever!”
