Alex first met indie musician Riley at a wine festival in the Swan Valley where he was playing. The pair hit it off, travelled the world together while Riley toured, and six years later said I do at the gorgeous 50-acre Tiller Farm in WA’s beautiful south-west town of Yallingup. With their sweet 10-month-old daughter, Charlie, by their side, and the talented Emma MacAulay Photography in charge of capturing memories, the newlyweds loved every minute of their dream day. Read on for their fave bits…
THE VENUE “The food was the first thing we booked. I had my heart set on Tiller as the caterers after a friend’s wedding in the South West was catered by them. Once we learnt they had a venue, we checked it out, loved it and locked in a date. We were so impressed with the venue on the day, as were a lot of our guests. It had all you needed while never being too extravagant. It was really an ‘us’ venue and that’s what we loved.”
THE DRESS “Falling pregnant early on in our wedding planning process made it a bit difficult. To take the pressure off making a decision, I started browsing online on Stillwhite – a second-hand dress platform – and found they had some really amazing dresses that were sometimes never even worn. I bought one on a whim about eight months before the wedding and I loved it. However, about two months before the wedding I had a change of heart, so I bought the Chosen by Kyha dress. I am so glad I made the call as it was perfect, and it was what I ended up wearing on the day.”
MEMORABLE MOMENT “The vows were super special, and having our 10-month-old daughter Charlie and our cocker spaniel Tandy with us on the day and part of the ceremony was a must.”
FAVE DEETS “The flowers at the alter were really spectacular to set the scene. It was super minimal but it was enough to make it special. I loved the bonfire outside – it was a nice little escape for all our guests to catch a breath in between dancefloor sessions or to chat to friends. Plus, it looked spectacular.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “We honestly loved all our vendors so much. They all came highly recommended so it made sense they were all so great. We absolutely loved all the photos Emma MacAulay took. Yallingup Event Hire were incredible with everything they were involved in and they really helped us find our style.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Took multiple moments for ourselves and stepped away from it all to have a little chat, check in, breathe and watch from afar all our favourite people enjoying themselves – that meant a lot to us both.”
