If you’re a bold bride looking for something different, playful and fun, then you are in the right place, people. Why? Because we are putting Hera Couture’s new collection, Soho, in front of you today, shot in the city that never sleeps (New York City, y’all) and it’s full of short dresses, sexy silhouettes, flattering necklines, a whole lotta ruffles and bodices to boot! Oh and don’t miss the Lyon Blazer dress in the most beautiful silk satin – it’s simply a must-see.

The collection was conceptualised for the modern gal, keen to do their nuptials in a new way – perhaps it’s a city hall situation, or registry wedding, or even an elopement. Perf for those of you searching for separates, or something to change into (or out of) after dark, as you can easily mix and match the minis with sheer overlays and luxe detachable skirts, still keeping the sophisticated structure of more traditional styles while revealing a little skin.

We spoke to the designer, Katie Yeung for more… “I wanted to create a concise range which allows our brides to style a gown to truly suit her personality, while seamlessly traversing the range of occasions a modern wedding encapsulates.” She was inspired by “New Yorks cobbled streets, neon lights and backstreet photo shoots – with a large dose of 80s sex appeal and attitude.” Basically, it’s a vibe and we’re here for it.

Another string to their bow (is that the saying!?), is the size range of this design house – UK0 to UK36. Impressive is an understatement, right? Katie points out that it takes, “lots of love and lots of hours to carefully craft the inner corsetry for support across [the range of] 0-36 before laying the outer design,” showcasing clearly the care that goes into every single Hera Couture piece. Oh and their prices start from $3500. A win!

But don’t worry, if minis don’t float your boat, the New Zealand-based designer has endless options on offer, with more collections than you can count on one hand (including one that features detachable sleeves, which quite frankly, is heaven on earth), as well as the opportunity for bespoke creations and incredible accessories on tap.

You’ll see their gowns in action in many a fashion editorial by yours truly here and here and in our last round-up of the Top 20 Bridal Gowns & Designers To Follow On Insta, as well as worn by real brides in Jess & Tom’s Melbourne Wedding and Courtney & Adam’s Yarra Valley Wedding, so do yourself a favour and check ’em out – once you’ve finished here, of course!
