We were very excited to hear that hair and makeup artist Liv Lundelius was engaged, and even happier when we saw these beautiful images by Jo Bartholomew of Liv and her fiancû? Dave pop up in our inbox. “The shoot was very spontaneous. Jo and I both were in Bali to work on a wedding and packed our men in the suitcases”, says Liv.
“Dave and I never really thought about organising an engagement shoot, but this opportunity was too good. We were in this beautiful country with an amazing photographer and all keen to wander through the rice fields and discover the farm lands, away from the hustle. Straight out of the plane and with just enough daylight to shoot we quickly freshened up and met up with Jo. I actually didn’t even really get time to do my own hair or makeup properly but it all didn’t matter. Frizzy hair- don’t care! We had the best time and ended up with some really great shots.”
Jo had an equally enjoyable time, exploring local villages while working with beautiful, natural light to capture a series of honest, candid images. “We found a gorgeous rice field and shot in the late afternoon sun, amongst the locals and rice paddy workers (who found it quite intriguing that we would want to have photos there!)” says Jo.
