Let it be known: Katie and Anthony know how to throw an epic party, and here’s why: their buddies hijacked the wedding vehicle to buy grog (to bring back for the wedding portraits of course); the mother of the groom burnt a hole in her dress, the newlyweds were pulled over in their Uber by and RBT, and as the couple got into the groove of their first dance – the speakers blew! Fortunately the live entertainment for the evening, Zane Thompson, “came to the rescue and let us use his audio equipment, then stuck around for the evening having a few drinks with the guests legend!”
Aside from those stand out moments, the pair did happen to plan more than a few factors that made their day the special celebration that it was, including locking in the incredible venue that is Three Blue Ducks in Sydney, as well as lensman extraordinaire, Gui Jorge . “Ant and I felt a connection with Gui from the moment we met him,” said the bride, adding, “we secured Gui before we had most things booked, but this gave us an overwhelming sense of comfort.”
A simple, elegant dress was the go for Katie, who opted for the Cheyne Gown from Houghton NYC. “I took my mum, nana and godmother to the The Bridal Atelier in Sydney to try it on and on my third visit I bought it. I didn’t even look in another bridal shop.” Despite the ease in which she found her dream dress, the bride offered this jovial piece of advice for future couples: Don’t spend the day before the wedding searching for the groom’s shirt! “Wish we didn’t spend the night shopping, and looking for our parked car in Bondi Junction at 8pm. The only time we have ever lost a car in a car park!” Aside from that, the pair agreed walking down the aisle together, and hiring a house for their families to enjoy together the following day made their celebrations all the more fun!
