During their six years together, Cameron had never bought Claire a single piece of jewellery. With an aversion to Pandora jewellery, Claire used to joke that if Cameron ever bought me something from Pandora that she would break up with him. Fast-forward to drinking champagne in the vineyards without a sunset, in the drizzling rain.
“Cameron proposed and presented me with a $50 Pandora ring that was the most hideous thing I have ever seen. His words were, ‘if you say yes to me with this ring, you must really love me.’ I think that sums us up as a couple. We have our own version of romance’.”
With a relaxed, simple, country vibe in mind (with tonnes of blue), this pair started planning their day enlisting a bucketful of amazing vendors including Merci Bouquet, Liv Lundelius, Grew & Co and All We Need is Love.
“When you know you have great vendors, trust them with your ideas and give them creative licence Weddings are their thing, I’m pretty sure they know what they are doing,” says Claire, who wore a Daarlarna Couture gown from Sydney bridal boutique Hope and Page.
Held at Mali Brae Farm, Claire and Cameron took on quite a few DIY projects including favours, name cards, menus and seating charts. “We collected individual photos of each guest at their finest and strung them up on swing tags to create the seating plan. Apparently it was a great source of entertainment for all!”
Captured by The Robertsons Photography, these newlyweds opted to tell us the true meaning of marriage, plain and simple is “being able to spend the rest of your days on this earth with the person you love the most.”
