Can you imagine getting married on a 43-degree day?! That’s what this couple had to deal with, but it didn’t dampen their day- no way! “Sprinklers and misters were installed in the trees at the 11th hour,” says Vic and Siggy. “The guests were all drunk off Bollinger from being so hot and dehydrated- the dance floor was a very memorable night!” We bet! The wedding was officiated by the one and only Married by Allegra and the pics were taken by one of our friends and fab photographer, I Got You Babe– both standout vendors. Oh and don’t miss the fun-filled video by Tango Films at the bottom of this post. Now scroll down, you won’t regret it.

THE PROPOSAL We were having a weekend away from Sydney, in the Barossa Valley (near where Vic grew up). We had a lovely lunch at Hentley Farm and a lovely evening at Kingsford Homestead, where Siggy proposed naked, in the outdoor bush bath!

THE VIBE Simple elegance. Black tie, with native flowers and the best food and wine. Hentley Farm is one of our favourite restaurants with some of our favourite reds.

FAVOURITE DETAILS We loved our cake that my sister whipped up. It was tastier than expected and I have a lovely memory of her icing it the hour before in her dress, trying to keep it out of the 43 degree heat.

THE DRESS I fell in love with the dress that Carolyn Bessette wore when she wed JFK- cut on the bias, simple, elegant and timeless.

MEMORABLE MOMENT The family flash mob! Our families planned to play ‘Cheerleader’ by Omi at the end of the ceremony, they had confetti bombs and the guests all had the lyrics and pom poms to cheer on the ‘cheerleader’. We love that song. We were so surprised and shocked, we just started walking down the aisle and started a dance floor midway!

LITTLE LOL Vic was trekking through a crop in her Jimmy Cho’s and hitched her dress up to climb the barbwire fence- showing her farm girl origins!

STANDOUT VENDORS Our celebrant! Allegra (of Married by Allegra) wrote the most beautiful ceremony. She even had a few tears at the end (but she is the groom’s sister!) And we really struck gold with our photographer, Lilli of I Got You Babe and videographer, Tango Films! The type of legends we would want at our wedding.
