Planning a wedding may be stressful for some, but for Tegan and Anthony, a scientific recruiter and a biotech company worker, it wasn’t exactly rocket science. “We wanted our wedding to be relaxed, filled with lots of food, drinks and music. We were aiming for the casual atmosphere of a big family dinner, the kind where you have to join all the tables together and grab every chair you own to place around them,” says Tegan.
Looking back at Antony Merat‘s brilliant photography, we are utterly impressed by the way this day came together – and just as impressed by the DIY work done by the bride and groom, who made a massive curtain backdrop that they stood in front of for the ceremony and hung behind the bridal table at Light Space. Who ever said scientists weren’t creative types?
Donning one of our favorite designers, Anna Campbell, Tegan looked flawless in her tea length dress. “It has the classic lines of an Audrey Hepburn dress and a casual feel. I decided on the skirt in champagne, a satin bodice to match and then the lace overlay. I loved it,” explains Tegan.
From the adorable MelaboWed cake topper and Fox and Fallow chalkboard signs to the beautiful blooms by Kate Dawes Flowers (whose work you can see more of in issue eight, on sale March 12), and marquee ‘love’ sign, this wedding was one for the books. But now the couple is delighted to have begun their married life together. “It means we are a team. It is us versus the world. It is having someone that I can count on and a partner in crime for life. It is my best friend by my side for always.”
