Sweethearts Steph and Nick had been together for 5 years when they decided to tie the knot. Inspired by the coastal vibes of their holiday home in Aireys Inlet, the couple opted for the comfort of their favourite local restaurant for their wedding day festivities. Aside from the bride’s golden gown, the florals definitely stole the day at these nuptials. Seriously, guys, you are going to want to check out this arbour, stat, courtesy of Babiana Botanic. Talented lady Cass of Blossom Daisy Creative was there to get all the good angles. Scroll down for the extra fun pics…
FAVOURITE DETAILS “We loved the way the invitations turned out. Ying’s photo is stunning and our friend, a graphic designer, created such an interesting and beautiful invitation. I know a lot of our friends loved it as much as us because when we went to visit months after the wedding it is still up on their fridge! We also loved the Maddie Sharrock vases. She is a friend of a friend and we were so lucky she had a surplus of vases that she was willing to sell to us. The marbling effect of the coloured concrete in her work reminded us of the cliffs of Aireys, and as such were a perfect addition for our wedding tables. Our florist [Babiana Botanic] kept the florals sculptural and textural, which really helped show off the beauty of the vases. It was also great to be able to give the vases away as gifts after the wedding to our bridal party and friends and family who had helped and supported us in the lead up to the wedding.”
REFERENCES “We did a lot of wedding planning on the internet, during our lunch breaks. Hello May was a great resource as it listed a lot of vendors. We found the linen hire, crockery hire, celebrant and hairstylist through Hello May.”
FAVOURITE MOMENT “Getting ready with my bridal party was a real highlight for me. We all stayed together the night before the wedding. As it was a freezing day, we got the fire going and had a relaxing time listening to records and sitting by the fire while we took it in turns getting our makeup and hair done. Once we were ready we had a bit of time to share a bottle of champagne with my mum which was really fun. “
A WORD OF ADVICE “We originally planned to have our ceremony in the bush, when we realised the weather forecast was looking grim with rain and hail predicted we decided, early on, to change the location to A La Greque. It was a tough decision to make, but we were so glad we made it the day before, so we could get things organised and not have to worry about it on the day. We wish we had have put a bit more thought into our plan B throughout the planning process.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “All our vendors put in such an amazing effort but three really stood out. Firstly Statos and Hannah at A La Greque. We have always loved the restaurant for the delicious food and great atmosphere and they did not disappoint on the night. Another stand out vendor was our wedding photographer Cass [Blossom Daisy Creative], she is such a joy to be around. She came highly recommended by our photographer friend Ying and she completely lived up to her reputation. She was also incredibly professional and helped make everything run smoothly on the day. We love the photos she took of all our guests on the night having fun. She captured the warmth and happiness of the evening perfectly. I also need to mention our florist Anna from Babiana Botanic. I told Anna that I didn’t want overly “pretty” flowers and wanted a nod to the Australian bush without overdoing the natives. She created a perfect balance.”
