You have to hear how Shontell and Madeleine got engaged. They had just checked into their cosy ranch room on a romantic coastal getaway. While Madeleine wasn’t watching, Shontell – ready with the ring – took the opportunity to drop to one knee. “But as luck would have it,” Shontell recalls, “when Madeleine turned around, she was also on her knee with a ring!”
One year on from this “delightful double proposal”, the two said ‘I do’ in Canberra with an incredibly elegant waterside wedding.

Our grand entrance, complete with fireworks, was accompanied by Crazy in Love by Beyoncé. Our first dance was to Speechless by Dan + Shay, surrounded by fireworks and smoke – such a magical moment! The cake cutting was celebrated with From the Ground Up by Dan + Shay, which added a sweet touch to our day.”
