When Lachlan took Sally to their favourite camping spot on the beach in the National Park in New South Wales, she had no idea what was in store. On day two they decided to have sundowners with cheese and olives at the top of a sand dune that they’d climbed the first time they ever stayed there.
“We got up there with our camping chairs and just as I stuffed a big biscuit and cheese combo in my mouth Lach stood up and started his big monologue about our lives together, which turned into a proposal. I thought I was going to fall down the dune. The view from the top could see right up and down the coast and the sunset was perfect.”
Held at Sally’s family’s new family property, the idea was to have a “relaxed garden party on the big scale” with a relaxed, intimate vibe. The couple tells us the celebration was one big DIY fest, from planting trees to making fire pits, hanging fairy lights and sewing cushions, this family was one busy crew.
They even made a flower crown for Maggie, the dog, who Sally tells us was the life of the party. “She dragged a squeaky toy from somewhere in the paddock and plonked down beside us and squeaked on it during the ceremony.”
Wearing a Rue De Seine gown from The Babushka Ballerina and Samantha Wills jewellery, the bride was absolutely stunning, as evidenced by Stories By Ash. The couple tells us that Ash went above and beyond to make their wedding photos picture perfect. “At one stage Ash had her shoes off and pants rolled up and was knee deep in the creek trying to get the right shot.”
