Every now and then we like to stray away from our lovely ocean shores. Why? Because whether its taken place near or far if it’s a kick ass wedding, we want to know about it! One couple that recently caught our attention (thanks to Ballad Photography’s beautiful handiwork) was Richard and Christy – a sweet, wholesome couple who were married at Country Heritage Park in Ontario, Canada.
Despite the distance however, Christy found her dream dress in Australia. “The wedding dress was found just days after the proposal, online through Grace Loves Lace a designer in Australia”, says Christy. “I sent all my measurements and preferences to them and they put it all together perfectly. It arrived in the mail about a month before the wedding just in time! It’s a vintage, bohemian design, featuring a low-back, lace from Paris, capped sleeves, and silk chiffon skirt. I added a custom vintage-inspired Twigs & Honey sash to add a little extra £fancy.
With the reception taking place at Country Heritage Park, their theme was “rustic and classy”. Stunning floral arrangements by Roses + Twine Floral Studio coupled with white linens, navy suits and dusty rose dresses provided the perfect mix to compliment their style. Christy, an illustrator and designer handmade their invitations, table markers and chalkboard signs but says the details weren’t necessarily her favourite thing. “The personal written vows were humorous, heartfelt and a highlight for everyone involved everyone laughed and cried. The food was excellent, but the live band at the end of the night (The Walkervilles) took the cake.”
