There isn’t a thing Molly and Harrison would change about their wedding day, hosted at the Redbank Events barn in charming country Victoria. For these two, maximising quality time with each guest was top priority. So, rather than a conventional evening reception, the pair – who killed it in the style stakes with a pink bridal gown from Holly Butler and a green suit – started celebrations earlier in the day, allowing them to share both a long lunch and sunset party with their favourite people.

The newlyweds told us they couldn’t have asked for a better vendor crew, assembled mostly through “a mix of Instagram, personal recommendations, and a healthy dose of scrolling through Hello May. Hello May played a huge role throughout our planning process – it gave us so much inspiration for styling, tone, and atmosphere. We even found our audio guest book idea here – Off The Hook – which ended up being one of our favourite personal touches.” Well, that’s our day made!

Scroll on to read the couple’s glowing testimonial for photographer Jackson Grant as well as more details on how they structured their longer-than-tradish wedding bash.

EXTRA-LONG ALL-DAY WEDDING CELEBRATION

“We chose to have a wedding that was 10 hours long, starting at 12:30pm – but trust us, it flew by! We structured it into two parts. Firstly, the ceremony and a relaxed, beautifully catered long lunch. This gave us time to really connect with guests, making sure everyone was comfortable and enjoying themselves. Then, photos and sunset party. Once everyone was settled, we took some time away for our couple photos. This allowed us to have a quiet moment together while our guests were already in the groove of the day. When we returned, it was sunset vibes leading into the party, making for a perfect transition into the evening. This structure allowed us to soak up every moment, ensuring we had time for both each other and our guests.”

DETAILS GUESTS LOVED

“We loved our tables, as we were fortunate enough to reuse these from a prior family wedding. Harrison’s brother hand made the tables from 100-year-old red gum. We gave Scratchies to our guests as favours… It’s a family tradition from Harrison’s side, to give a Scratchie around Christmas time and a couple of guests even won $20. The phone guest book (from Off The Hook) was a great addition, as our guests left lovely messages and well as funny stories throughout the day/night. Being able to listen to all the messages is a nice reminder of the day.”

PERSONAL TWIST ON HANDFASTING CEREMONY

“We incorporated a handfasting tradition into the ceremony, which added a deeply meaningful and personal element to our ceremony. Instead of saying the traditional words of a handfasting ceremony, Molly’s aunty and one of Harrison’s sisters said a few words about each family and their values, and what it now meant for the two families to come together. Post ceremony, a lot of our friends told us that the handfasting was their favourite part of the ceremony and didn’t know that’s where the term ‘tying the knot’ came from.”

VENDOR APPRECIATION: A STANDOUT PHOTOGRAPHER

“Of course, we have to give a special shoutout to Jackson Grant, who was an absolute standout. From the moment he arrived, it felt like he was part of our inner circle. He blended in with our guests so naturally that many thought he was a long-time friend. His vibrant personality, creative eye, and infectious energy brought out genuine laughs, unforgettable moments, and pure joy throughout the day. Jackson didn’t just capture memories – he helped create them.”
