For Megan and James, it only took one look at Magpies Nest Restaurant to know it was the one. With its iconic stone building, rolling vineyards and that unmistakably Wagga charm, the venue had everything they were dreaming of and more. The vibe? Think Italian summer meets country romance — bright, fun and full of heart. With vibrant blooms, an alfresco reception under the sunset, and the dreamiest dress and tux combo to top it all off, this day, captured by the phenomenal Jules of Love by Colour Captured was pure magic from start to finish.

WEDDING VENUE IN WAGGA WAGGA

Magpies Nest Restaurant was the second venue we visited, and we knew we didn’t need to see any others after that. It’s iconically Wagga and has the most beautiful stone building. The building is what drew us to the venue, as it was the vibe we were going for, but Hayley and the team were really the icing on the cake. We left our first visit feeling so confident in the team and their ability to bring our day to life, that we knew we’d hit the jackpot and locked in a date that worked for us all.”

ITALIAN SUMMER VIBES

“We didn’t so much have a theme for the day beyond fun, colour, Italian summer vibes, with lots of flowers. We really leant into the stone building complimented with pops of colour through ribbons, flowers, and details. We wanted our day to be happy and bright and that’s exactly how it felt.”

WEDDING FLORALS THAT WOWED

“The wedding flowers were our absolute dream! We gave Sophie from Little Triffids, creative control over them, guided by a few inspo pics and our colour scheme and they were absolutely incredible. The reception setting was stunning, and not to mention, one of a kind. We were lucky enough to have an alfresco reception, with gorgeous views all round. On one side we had the stunning stone building, another we had fig trees and then had the view out over the vineyards with the most stunning sunset to cap it off.”

BRIDAL GOWN SHOPPING

“The NEWHITE Palm Dress blew me away. I loved the fit, the style and the gorgeous material. It was light and fun and flowy, but most importantly I felt like me when wearing it. The experience was made perfect by Amy at Mrs Fray in Canberra. She has created the most calm, peaceful and welcoming store that made me comfortable and at ease from the get-go. It was the first store I visited and after trying three other gorgeous dresses, I tried the NEWHITE Palm Dress and knew it was it. I instantly loved it.”

THE PERFECT WEDDING TUX

“My wedding suit was from M.J. Bale. Megan and I took a trip to Melbourne and went in with a suit in mind. I tried it on and we realised maybe it wasn’t the suit for me. After some chatting and trying on, we found the Black Wattle Tuxedo jacket and agreed it was it. But unfortunately not a single store across the country had it in stock in the size I needed. After some sweet talking and measurements, I had a custom made Black Wattle tux coming my way. The team was incredible and so helpful throughout the whole experience. Because it was custom, I was lucky enough to get a custom coloured lining to match our day, and have it embroidered with our initials and wedding date. It truly ended up being one of a kind.”

MUST-HAVE WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

“We feel so lucky with every vendor who helped make our wedding what it was. Hayley from Magpies Nest Restaurant and her team were phenomenal. She pulled off the most amazing one-off outdoor reception for us but also made the wedding planning process a really enjoyable one for us. Jules from Love by Colour Captured was another standout. We went searching deep for a photographer that felt like us and Jules was recommended. On the day, Jules fitted in so perfectly and we felt so comfortable in her presence. She’s such a natural. And the photos she took are proof of that.
