New Zealand, or more specifically the Hilton in Lake Taupo, provided the perfect backdrop for Louise and Ryan’s bohemian inspired wedding, which for a moment they worried might not go ahead. “Ryan was admitted to hospital the day before our wedding where we were told to cancel all wedding and honeymoon arrangements!” says Louise, obviously relived when he was given the green light.
Beautifully captured by photographers Benjamin and Elise, Louise tells us, “I wanted to have a touch of a bohemian style to our wedding so I kept things very simple and organic. Our bouquet and reception flowers looked like they were freshly cut from the garden. The flowers were placed in 120 antique bottles I collected over the year which were all over 100 years old and dug up from underground.”
By far our favourite addition to their day, beyond the geometric walls, was their eye-catching stationery by Lauren Earl from Behance and of course, Louise’s gorgeous gown. “I had it made by a dressmaker in a soft lace fabric I had found at Centrepoint Fabrics in Auckland. The top section down to my waist was fitted and sheer with lace appliquû?d over the front. My veil was long and dragged on the ground to act as a train. I just love it!”
