Liz and Jim married on a little beach in Port Fairy, Victoria. They tell us, “We wanted to keep the focus on starting a marriage rather than just having a wedding and so we aimed for a simple, intimate weekend with our families in a very special place for both of us. Our small ceremony on the beach, with our immediate families and partners, really allowed for us to all be relaxed, present and close together as we shared our vows and happiness.”
It was all smiles for these two lovebirds, who wouldn’t have had it any other way. Except for perhaps a little less wind. But no matter what Mother Nature threw their way, it wouldn’t have changed the fact that Liz loved her dress. She tells us, “My dress was designed and made by my beautiful and talented sister in law, Cara. We designed the style and shopped for the material together, after which Cara spent lots of dedicated time to make the perfect frock for me. I loved the fact that we got to hang out heaps together during this process and I am forever grateful to Cara for all her patience and love along the way.”
After their priest (also a family friend) had given Liz and Jim his blessing they moved on to Merrijig Inn to enjoy delicious local food and wine and to share some stories while Jim’s dad played music, making it a true family affair, but not before the talented Jessica Tremp from Brown Paper Parcel captured these stunning, albeit windswept, photos.
The entire weekend went according to plan, but perhaps that’s because Liz and Jim never expected things perfect. After all, as Liz says, “It is all about two best friends having fun and taking the next step with family and friends.”
