These two sneaky lovers actually became Mr and Mrs secretly in Vegas a few years earlier, only announcing this at their Rae’s on Wategos celebration. “There were a few shocked parents but it made for a funny story!” laugh Lauren and Lachy, who when asked what marriage means to them had this to say. “After being together for so many years, we knew marriage wouldn’t change our relationship, but after two kids, it was really special to treat the wedding as a ceremony to lock our family in together. Plus, we had already done it once before in Vegas… Just a little less, classy!”
To say they assembled a dream team to bring the whole beautiful thing together would be an understatement – Tropical Romance & Co was in charge of photos, Rolling Dawn Films on video, The Future Mrs looked after Lauren’s glam, and Lachy was suited up in M.J.Bale. That’s enough from us, scroll down to see all they fun for yourself and hear from the happy couple…
THE VENUE “The idea of a 150 person-plus wedding was quite daunting to us, when we discovered Rae’s allowed a few weddings each year with a 50 person max capacity, we knew it was for us. The perfect seaside location with exceptional service, food and accommodation.”
THE VIBE “We wanted the wedding to be a true celebration and incorporating an explosion of bold, bright colours, next to the blue ocean demonstrated that perfectly. We wanted to skip out on some traditions and keep others that we loved, so although we got ready with our best friends, we didn’t have bridal parties – it meant for some eclectic photos which Tropical Romance & Co captured perfectly.”
LITTLE LOL “The weather held out for us, with the sun shining beautifully all day, but just as the dancefloor began, the sky opened. It was magical. We had people dancing in the rain and the mood was high. At one point, someone must have jumped on my foot which ended up in a hospital visit the next day and the rest of the holiday on crutches… I lived to tell the tale!”
MEMORABLE MOMENTS “The vibe of the day was definitely to have fun with those we love most, so getting ready with our best friends, with a margarita in hand or going for swims at Wategos was the best start to the day. However, nothing will top watching the kids make their way down the aisle before our ceremony.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Make the day your own. And only add people to the guest list that will add to your day.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our vendors really were the dream team. Everyone went above and beyond for us, but making sure you choose the perfect photographer and videographer is so important as these are your memories once the day is over! Tropical Romance & Co and Rolling Dawn Films worked together seamlessly and made us feel so comfortable.”
