Together since they were 16, Ethan and Lauren’s wedding marked the next chapter in their already exciting adventure together. £We grew up together but we have also grown as individuals we now will grow into our own family, says Lauren who recruited the world’s most adorable small humans to be part of her and Ethan’s ceremony, held on a private property in Auckland, New Zealand. £Those tiny humans were Ethan and I’s nephews and nieces – adorable huh!? says Lauren, who at one point thought things might not go ahead. £On the day of the wedding Ethan locked his keys in the car! she recalls about the one thing she hadn’t planned for during their two and a half year engagement. But the boys were determined and upon seeing Lauren for the first time in her Anna Schimmel gown, Ethan knew that nothing in the world (let alone locking his keys in the car) could have kept him from missing that moment.
£After looking through wedding magazines, I found Anna Schimmel and I knew she had to make my dress! After the first consultation, Anna had drawn up my dress exactly how I wanted! I knew I wanted lace sleeves as my Nana had made my Mum’s wedding dress with the same detailing, says Lauren who enjoyed being able to have a hand in every aspect of their vintage inspired day. £As the property was privately owned I had to organise everything and I mean everything! Marquee, toilets, music, lights drinks, food (which was catered for) etc. It was a big job but it was worth it! In keeping with the venue’s romantic, vintage vibe Lauren kept things simple with beautiful festoon lighting, classic white and gold table settings, plenty of fresh flowers and some DIY chalkboard signs. £Overall I wanted the vibe to be relaxed and fun – an expression of Ethan and I.
Surrounded by the smell of handmade lavender scented soy candles, Lauren, Ethan and their good looking guests ended the night on a high note, eating cake and dancing the night away on Brookgreen Park’s beautifully manicured lawns beneath a canopy of twinkling fairy lights. £? it was owned and lived on by a lovely couple who maintained the whole property by themselves. The love and passion they had for gardening really made the place so special, says Lauren of the night that, thanks to photographer Danelle Bohane, her and Ethan will never forget.
