With her glorious hair and bangin’ bod, it’s hard not to notice this gorgeous bride, who doubles as a fashion designer of Aussie brand, Stone and DIY’d “basically everything,” including that dress. “I individually sewed more than 400 beads onto it in the early hours of the mornings,” reveals the bride. Laura and her musician love married in a Palm Springs-themed wedding, lensed by Goldlight Photography and had such a ball that the police had to shut it down! “The neighbours couldn’t handle all that Drake and Cardi B!” Scroll down to see it all for yourself and don’t miss Laura’s solid words of advice.

THE PROPOSAL We first met at church, had a few conversations, which led to a few dates, and before we knew it, we were best friends. Four and a half years later, we were standing on a candlelit rooftop in the middle of Bangkok City and Chris went down on one knee, and asked me to be his wife in the most magical way ever.

THE VENUE I had used the warehouse (27 Halifax Street) for a fashion show the previous year, so when we got engaged we just knew we wanted to have our wedding there. That’s where the vision for the day began!

THE THEME I have been obsessed with Palm Springs for a long time. It’s the palm trees, banana leaves, pink neon signs and total 70’s vibe that got me excited, so why not make our wedding feel just like we were there, right? We decided to have our honeymoon in Palm Springs also.

THE DRESS Being a fashion designer, I had a very clear idea of what I wanted. I am a true minimalist, so I knew it had to be simple and timeless with a bit of me thrown in. I found the diamond-beaded mesh fabric on a trip one year ago and I just knew it was the one.

MARRIAGE MEANS… Putting yourself aside and living for that special someone. It’s not about me anymore. My goal in this life is to now respect, love, put God and Chris first and everything else will fall into place. It is two people becoming one.

A WORD OF ADVICE One of the biggest things I learnt was to delegate. Don’t feel bad asking and give jobs to people because they will remember those memories with you and also feel like they were a part of the day. Find joy in the stressful times and just remember to laugh and have fun because on the day you won’t notice all those things you stressed about. And my number one rule… DANCE.

STANDOUT VENDORS Alexis from Goldlight Photography is one very talented photographer. My caterer is also a very good friend of mine and did the decor and florals as well. Her food looks out of this world, but tastes even better. These ladies made the day a breeze and I couldn’t have done it without them.
