Kimberley clearly loves Paolo Sebastian, and it’s no secret that so do we. After loads of online research and a Pinterest tangent, Kimberley came across the Australian designer’s gowns and was “absolutely blown away” and couldn’t imagine herself wearing anything else to the nontraditional day held at Butterland in Melbourne.
“When I first saw the blue dress I gasped and thought ‘this is the dream dress’. So after a few chats with my fiance, telling him I had fallen in love with ‘the dress’ but without telling him any details, and the possible need for a budget increase for the dress i had his blessing… the rest was history. Before i knew it I was getting married in a couture blue dress.”
As engineers, Kimberley and Ryan hoped to create a celebration with a minimal carbon footprint which meant heaps of DIY and an ultra-creative alternative to posting their wedding invites.
“One of the ways we tried to keep the carbon footprint down was hand delivering all our invitations on bike. Those are the memories from before the big day that we really remember and enjoy,” the pair explains, adding that photographer Kim Cartmell and florist Katie Marx were sure standout vendors.
