Images of Jess’s pretty feet by photographer Bonnie Jenkins were just a small sample of what was in store for their special day. Held on a private property in Queensland Jess and Marco’s wedding was filled with innovative DIY ideas. Jess tells us, “We both love to make things ourselves, so the wedding was an excuse to get really creative! We made all the bunting, the tree decoration, the LOVE sign, the mixed tapes for the guests and the sugar coated almond bags”.
Both musicians, their coolest contribution by far was the song they wrote and recorded for their ceremony. “We wanted the wedding to be a true representation of who we are, incorporating our love of vintage, the outdoors and music!” says Jess who wore jewellery by Samantha Wills a lovely gown and veil by Grace Loves Lace that was elegant and comfortable. “No zips, buttons or corsets!”
With Marco’s family being from Sicily, they chose to include the ‘Tarantella’ – “a traditional Italian song where everyone basically spins round in circles, and dances in big groups and with partners”, explains Jess. With help from Wendy’s Flowers and Event Hire, Golden Roast and My Vintage Lane guests were treated to a beautiful night they’ll never forget.
