This venue is actual heaven (we’ve been there personally and it was everything the pictures portray and more), these two are loved-up to boot and the proposal story involved trying to find a tick on their fur baby, and finding a ring instead, so basically we were sold from the get-go guys. They enlisted the skills of some of our go-to vendors to make their micro wedding happen (25 guests to be exact) – from photographer Beck Rocchi to event planner extraordinaires, ELOPE, Grace Loves Lace and Forever Soles and you can see how it all came together below…

LITTLE LOL We actually had a lot of stressful things happen before the wedding! I wasn’t sure that I wouldn’t have to go in for day surgery the week before the wedding, Joel’s mum had a severely broken leg that wouldn’t permit her to travel unless it [got better] and accommodation didn’t go through properly on websites [for multiple family members]. Thankfully we got some emergency accommodation for them all though! Resulting in the wedding itself running very smooth, thank goodness!”

THE INSPOI am a big fan of neutrals and love simplistic beauty. Overall I would say the theme was neutral, boho-luxe. I had a big focus on having a relaxed atmosphere and flow to the night, where there was no pressure on anyone for speeches or anything that made them feel uncomfortable, same going for Joel and I. It was just like a big party with our closest friends and family and it was absolutely perfect!”

FAVE DETAILS “The flowers (Wilderness Flowers) were absolutely breathtaking and everything I had hoped for, everyone commented on how gorgeous they were, especially my bouquet – that was a standout for sure! And our cake (The Cake That Ate Paris). It was honestly the nicest cake I’ve ever had.”

THE DRESS “I loved my dress! Having a low back was a must for me. The dress was exceptionally comfortable too. Once buttoning up the train after the ceremony and photos, I was able to dance and get around very easily. I bought the dress on my very first Grace Loves Lace visit. The studio was absolutely stunning and I couldn’t wait to try on all of the gowns I had been looking at online. I never ended up going anywhere else for my dress. They had so many stunning options that it made the process really easy and stress-free.”

REFERENCESELOPE was brilliant with connecting us to specific (vendors) that they work with and recommend as well – giving us the confidence in the quality too!”

WE’RE GLAD WE…Had a small, intimate and somewhat non-traditional wedding. I am very glad we went above and beyond with the food and alcohol. No one went home hungry and we even had leftovers, which was a great achievement given what big eaters my family are. Having live music was a really nice touch and really created the atmosphere for the wedding as guests arrived.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Everyone absolutely raved about the food from Fig Tree Restaurant and adored Beck Rocchi (photographer)!. We had people commenting on how they thought Beck was a guest and how much they loved her energy and ability to get natural, relaxed and beautiful photos. We also had everyone raving about the food (the prawns, pork belly and risotto probably came up the most). We are a food-driven bunch of people and they simply blew us away. It was heaven!”

Jess and Joel enlisted a bunch of our fave vendors to bring their wedding to life, from photographer, Beck Rocchi, to ELOPE (the brilliant planners), Grace Loves Lace and Forever Soles, and we wouldn’t be surprised if you want to know and see more from each and every one of them. So follow the links here, here, here and here to their Directory listings with us, where you will find contact details and more real weddings they are featured in below. But first…
