When we hear ‘timeless romance’ Georgie and Khaled’s day is what comes to mind. We’re talking string quartet (!!!), lush views over the valley, and a bridal frock fit for a princess (paired with Bared Footwear ofc). The couple of six years opted for a morning ceremony and had zero regrets about keeping the occasion close-knit. “We are so glad we decided to have an intimate ceremony; it felt so special to be surrounded by our closest loved ones and celebrate with them.”

As always, Tassie turned on the charm, delivering the most divine autumn foliage, and Bonnie Jenkins caught all the dreamy details on camera. This one’s pure bliss; take a browse below…

THE VENUE “We had always planned to have a wedding in Tasmania and initially had a different venue lined up, but just a month before the wedding, we found out there were capacity issues and had to frantically search for another venue. Thankfully, we have the best wedding planners ever, Ash and Brad at Freyr Studio, and they were able to find Vaucluse Estate Tasmania on short notice. It turned out better than we had originally planned!”

THE VIBE “We had a very romantic style wedding; we wanted to incorporate a lot of nature and beauty. As it was autumn in Tasmania, we used a lot of the autumnal foliage from our surroundings and incorporated this into the floral arrangements. Khaled and I wanted to make sure we prioritised taking time out for ourselves together, as it’s so easy to get swept up in the day. We took regular little moments for ourselves to enjoy the newly-wed feeling and made sure we stayed by each other’s sides for the day. We also wanted to make sure our guests left with full bellies and fuller hearts.”

MEMORABLE MOMENT “Neither of us are very coordinated, so we practised executing a perfect aisle dip leading up to the wedding, and we managed to pull it off perfectly as we walked back down the aisle together. Our guests were impressed, and it was a very special moment. Khaled’s favourite memory was seeing me walk down the aisle. He seldom cries but definitely had some tears when he saw me.”

LITTLE LOL “Khaled’s father was flying in from overseas for the ceremony and had a series of flight delays. We had a morning ceremony commencing at 11am. We spent the morning thinking that he wasn’t going to make it, but after 48 hours in transit, he finally arrived at the venue. We pushed the ceremony start time back by 10 minutes so he could quickly shower and change at the venue, but we were so thrilled that he made it in time. I was also quite nervous during my vows and got a bit tongue-tied! Instead of commenting on our future and wanting to start a family together, I misspoke and said I wanted to start a farm. There were a lot of laughs. It was a really nice way to break the nerves.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “Our guests absolutely raved about the food, wine and service from Hubert + Dan and their team. Many guests reported it was one of the best meals they ever had. Ash, Brad and the team at Freyr Studio made the entire wedding planning process so uncomplicated, and we weren’t stressed at any stage of the process – even when we had to change our venue at the last minute. They worked with us to create a gorgeous vision and executed it flawlessly. Lastly, our photographer, Bonnie Jenkins, was incredible at capturing our most special moments and made us feel so comfortable in front of the camera. She’s an expert at finding the most beautiful locations and was happy to hike across the property to find the vantage points to make sure we got the money shots!”
