When it came to organising their I Do’s, Georgia and Alberto had a clear vision in mind of what was most important to them: family, good food, live music and – of course – a bit of fun. “My inspiration was a bohemian cross country theme, because I loved the laid back yet beautiful feel they both gave. Overall though, in every element our focus was for the day to be about family, for it to feel like a big family weekend away where we all got to enjoy dinner and dancing together afterwards,” the couple explains, adding that their ideal venue would offer a ‘homey’ feel and amazing views.

Enter Mavis’s Kitchen in Uki, Alberto fell in love with Mavis’s before his bride was convinced, but it was undoubtedly the managers who decided their fate. “They allowed us to visit as many times as we liked, shouted us drinks and made us feel like family. We visited many times and even stayed a night before booking it for our day. I loved how we could use so many areas of the venue to make the day interesting but easy for guests. I still am so glad we chose Mavis’s,” says Georgia, who was extremely happy with their first look prior to the ceremony.

“It turned out to be so much fun for everyone. Planning the day this way meant that we could go straight from the ceremony to canapû?s with our guests. It made the whole afternoon so much more personal and relaxed. Plus, I will never forget the moment that Alberto turned and looked at me with such love in his eyes. To be able to share that moment privately was something words cannot explain. Then when we met again at the alter, it was so calm and just a lot of fun,” the bride tells, recalling another favourite memory.

The pair agreed that Miriam Ackroyd would do the perfect job of capturing their day, and man did she. Coupled with the beautiful videography from Evernew Studio, we’re falling head over heels for the gorgeous outcome.

“Under the moonlight we danced to ‘Thank You’ by Led Zeppelin, and about half way through it started to sprinkle a light rain shower just as the words ‘little drops of rain’ were sung. It was so perfect. The rain continued at the perfect level for the rest of the dancing and everyone just had so much fun. It was the perfect way to end such a special day, by dancing in the rain with my love. I remember being so overwhelmed with a genuine joy. Taking a deep breath of that fresh, rainy air, I felt like I was on cloud nine and it made all the busy-ness of the day so worth it.”
