We’re suckers for a long distance love story, so Emma and Steve’s epic romance was no exception. Having first met in San Diego, USA they spent endless hours communicating via different devices (phone, Skype, WhatsApp) and meeting up at different hot spots around the world – The Phillippines, Perth and finally Bali, where Steve, who had been serving in the British Military, finally proposed. £I said yes, Emma explains. £We both flew home to Perth, on the same plane; for the first time we didn’t have to say goodbye at the airport.
With help from two of of our favourite vendors, all-rounder Jessica of The Butcher, The Baker, The Stylist & Creator and photographers Glenn and Lauren of Still Love, Emma and Steve pulled off the wedding of their dreams. £We wanted to really focus on having a very intimate, heartfelt and sacred ceremony, then a sit down meal with some amazing food, followed by a real knees-up! Looking back this is exactly what the day was made of and we couldn’t of been happier about how everything turned out.
With a gnarly burn on her arm to prove it, the bride got down and dirty undertaking DIY projects. From table numbers, to place cards and even homemade pûtû?. £It was all totally worth it, Emma insists. £Those personal touches really made it us’. Though Emma claims to be £notoriously a very indecisive person, her Dion For Brides gown was an amazing choice. £When I felt it was the one, I went with it! I love my dress, its simplicity yet understated elegance won me over and I’ll treasure it forever.
