As the founders and owners of a fab Fremantle venue, wedding planning for Emma and Heath was pretty easy-breezy. Centred around an ethos of healthy, sustainable living, The Raw Kitchen is set in an original 1920s warehouse and focuses on bringing together a plant-based restaurant, lifestyle store, yoga and studio space. (First featured in our annual Real Wedding Special).
£Each wedding that has been held in the space has been unique and special, so having the opportunity to envision, then bring to life, our very own dream day was just wonderful and having the added freedom and flexibility to do this on our own terms made for such a smooth and enjoyable process, say Emma and Heath, adding that they wanted to create an easygoing day with a focus on the people and feelings above all else.
£The ceremony itself was an absolute buzz of immense love! So much love, we were both bursting! There was something amazing about having all of our beloved family and friends together in one space, all focused on you committing to an act of love with your chosen one, explains Emma, who hired lens lady Amanda Alessi to capture all the fun-filled times.
£Our photographer Amanda has an incredible eye for detail and a gorgeous, shining personality. There wasn’t any other photographer we could’ve wished for on the day, says Emma, who looked absolutely stunning in her oh-so non-traditional Bianca Spender gown on the big day.
£It was simple and lovely! I didn’t have too many expectations – I knew that I wanted to feel like me and wanted to wear something a little different from tradition, but beyond that I was open to what I found and what felt right. Wearing black was actually a lot of fun and the dress felt like it was made custom for me – it fit like a glove and I felt so comfortable and lovely in it all day! Best yet, it’s the type of dress I can wear again, the bride says, encouraging others to not lose sight of the real purpose of getting hitched.
£Weddings are about people celebrating their love – the dresses, cakes and quartets are just the fun part of the experience, so make sure that the love is the greatest display. Don’t stress out about the little things, just be full of love and gratitude for your partner and keep the focus on the uplifting energy of the celebration.
