Perth-based photographers Glenn and Lauren from Still Love couldn’t wait to capture Emily and Jason’s day, knowing they both shared a secret obsession for their pets. One look at these beautiful images and you’ll probably spy reference to their prized bunny everywhere you look. The star of a certain pair of Peter Alexander pyjamas Emily, a graphic designer, used their furry friend as inspiration for their stationery and styling.
“Our ‘spirit animals’ are a rabbit and bear so this was a recurring theme. I’ve always loved the 1950’s era for its style, hair and make-up – I’m pretty obsessed with vintage clothing!” says Emily who chose an animal cake topper by Melabo Wed and a vintage inspired bow tie by Gentlemen & Scholar to suit their theme. “We think the combination of vintage, woodland and rustic worked nicely with the underground cellar of Sandalford Winery“.
What mattered most however, was that Emily got to have her father there in some small way. “My parents married in the same church 40 years ago. My dad passed away four years ago so I had my heart shaped locket sewn to my dress which I had worn every day since then. We also had a photo of him in our church book and at the reception. My Godfather (Dad’s brother) walked me down the aisle but we all felt Dad was there that day.” Dressed in a vintage inspired tea-length gown by Elvi Design and headpiece by Gibson Bespoke we have no doubt he was watching from above, feeling proud as punch.
