Although this couple have been together for only two years, their love story started as teenagers, 15 years ago. “I remember the first time I saw Jesse, walking across the quadrangle at high school. We have always shared something special and understood each other from a young age. We went our separate ways for years, studying, travelling, (Jesse had two beautiful babies) and then we one day realised we were meant to be together.” Paris Hawken Photography was there to get all the pics of this perfect couple and you can see them all below… Including a quokka!
THE VENUE “With our small and intimate guest list (35 guests), we wanted a venue to match. Out of the few places available at Rottnest, we knew Karma Rottnest was the perfect place, amazing food, peppy trees, terracotta coloured walls with old white bifold windows and doors surrounding the pool.”
FAVOURITE DETAILS “THE FLOWERS! Kara at Rose & Bud is one talented lady! My bouquet was more than perfect, it was huge and colourful, with a touch of difference because of the banksias. And Karma Lodge went all out with the dessert platters! Gourmet chocolates, nuts, kiwi berries, blueberries and traditional Turkish Delight.”
THE DRESS “After searching for a silk dress I discovered local designer, Lola Varma. It was a special experience- they have the most beautiful fabrics. The Delfina skirt and Parvia top were the first I tried on and I fell in love with the pair straight away. Made from 100% silk, designed and handmade in Australia- perfection.”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Remember why you are getting married and revolve everything around that. Write your own vows- surprising each other with our own vows was the most special thing. They are a beautiful keepsake and we have chosen to read our vows to each other every anniversary.”
WE’RE GLAD WE “It was such a great idea heading to Rotto a couple of days prior to the wedding. This meant everything had to be organised before we left, no last minute running around, no worrying about checking emails, we could just enjoy ourselves, enjoy the lead up together with family and friends. And we highly recommend heading straight to your honeymoon after the wedding! It is such a special and memorable time, just talking about the wedding constantly is so much fun!”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our celebrant, Nathanael Ditchburn was brilliant, we clicked with him straight away, our first meeting ran way over time enjoying good conversation, laughs and beer. He did an amazing job writing our personal ceremony, with the romance that we envisioned. Paris Hawken Photography was incredible- just look at her images! Paris is so efficient and knows quickly and exactly when she has ‘the shot’, we loved her chilled vibe throughout the day and couldn’t have asked for anything more.”
