COURTNEY & SAM'S SYDNEY WEDDING

This colourful Sydney wedding gets 10/10 from us! Courtney and Sam got married “on our 7th anniversary! 7-year itch? Get Hitched!” They laugh. And the day can be summed up like this: “Colour, chaos and a wild dancefloor with a room full of so much love and laughter!” BIG YES!

Both musicians, Sam (a guitarist in Fangz) and Courtney (a member of go-go band The Beehives) knew they wanted their Sydney seaside wedding to be a reflection of their style: “A mix of colourful ’60s to rock’n’roll”, and called on their many creative friends to make it happen. They also enlisted incredible photographer Emily Hart of A Little Bit Snappy, who “captured the colour, love, and laughter throughout the entire day perfectly.”

THE VIBE “Our colour theme landed on ’70s disco sunset stripes with a pop of daisies’. Gradients of bright gold, yellow, orange, pink and reds with small white daisies throughout – we wanted colourful, fun and vibrant! Our wonderful guests are a huge range of characters and many creatives so our dress code was ‘cocktail formal, with a pop of personality’ and they certainly delivered – we had bright patterned suits, Western shirts, glitter dresses, tassel onesies, vintage curls and many pops of colour!”

THE DRESS “My dress is Lenni from Made With Love Bridal. As my family are all interstate, my sister organised for her and my mum to travel to Sydney for a big day of dress shopping – we visited six shops in one day! My maid of honour Nikki also joined us, and I dragged her to every shop in town over many weekends as my common denominator when comparing styles. Her wedding dress was also from Made With Love so it was really special having her with me and being MWL girlies together.”

STANDOUT VENDORS “We really connected with Emily Hart, our photographer (A Little Bit Snappy) who was a whirlwind of laughs, endless energy, hype girl, can-do queen who didn’t bat an eye when our schedule was predictably running behind and we requested an extra hour. As you can see her photos are just so beautiful and captured the colour, love, and laughter throughout the entire day perfectly. We have adopted her and since become good friends with promises of endless cat snuggles and margaritas!””

FAVE DETAILS “Off The Hook delivered a charged-up ready to go audio guest book with easy returns which was SO fun to receive mid-honeymoon, and by the time we got back, there was a personalised record of all the messages ready for us to listen to. The absolutely stunning archway and florals Pia (Culture Beat Creative) created for us – many of the flowers handpainted to our colour scheme and put together with such an eye for detail. She designed the archway in a way that it could easily be taken down and moved to behind the bridal table at the reception which really brightened the room! Also our bottled margarita favours, handmade by our favourite local The Hive Bar in Erskineville. We had our first date at The Hive and have had many fun memories, events and delicious margaritas there.
