We could happily whittle away a good chunk of time in the coastal wedding album of Conor and Courtney-Rae (known as Con and Court to their people).

Relaxed and fun, their summer soiree was shared with an intimate gathering of 53 at Byron Bay’s Fig Tree Restaurant. Picture Euro-inspired gardens, pastel coastal hues and poolside mingling – dreamy!

Looking equally shmick were the newlyweds. The groom, who donned Peter Jackson head-to-toe, correctly described the bride as “glowing” in Grace Loves Lace (and do we spy some jewels from our mates at Michael Hill? Yes, yes, we do!)

Thankfully, House of Chapters was on site to immortalise all this gorgeousness, and our newlyweds were understandably impressed, explaining that they can see them “capturing all our big life events for the future.”

Dive into C&C’s idyllic ‘I do’s below…

THE VENUEFig Tree Restaurant has always been a dream venue for me. One, because it’s close to the ocean and meant a destination wedding. And two, the pool and fig tree are magnificent. Whenever I thought of our wedding day and what we wanted it to look like, this is the venue that I could imagine our special day being at. Once we both walked through the gate and into the grounds, we were WOWED (jaws literally dropped) by the massive fig tree and outlook over the hinterland to the ocean and Byron lighthouse. Seriously incredible! Conor said ‘I cannot imagine getting married anywhere else.’ This comment secured the venue!”

FAVE DETAILS “Some of our favourite details from the day were the florals. When the bouquets arrived in the bridal suite, I was blown away. The brief I gave was spot on – architectural and organic in shape with different floral textures in white and greens. It was a work of art, and the simplicity of the calla lilies for the bridesmaids was a match made in heaven. Another stunning detail was the cake, heart-shaped and topped with vibrant red raspberries, the white chocolate and vanilla bean ganache cake filled with white chocolate cheesecake and raspberry gelée. Katrina from CakeHouse has been baking delicious cakes for my birthday for over 10 years; it was a must that one of her iconic cakes was our wedding cake.”

THE DRESS “My wedding dress was from Grace Loves Lace. I tried on two other dresses before finding the dress of my dreams. ‘Aire’ is a double-layered satin Grecian goddess-inspired dress with draping, button details that highlight the curve of the back, an architectural cut out and a side split to elongate the leg. It was the dress I knew I could dance all night in. When I saw Aire online, I knew I HAD to try on this dress. Mum and my sister-in-law came with me for the dress fitting, with a champagne in hand and fitting like a glove, I walked out in Aire and their smiles couldn’t be contained (neither could mine), Mum had tears in her eyes, it is a special memory etched in my brain. The experience was so positive. The Grace Loves Lace showroom was buzzing, and other brides commented on how beautiful I looked in the dress.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Took the time to do first looks with our families. We were able to get family photos and capture first look moments. This also meant that we were able to enjoy a significant amount of time with our guests during cocktail hour, which was a priority for us.”
