“Not one for a public proposal,” Cora was pleased with Glen’s efforts. “A standard Friday night getting take away after a long week, Glen popped the question on the couch over burgers,” she explains. We like the sound of you, Glen! The lovely Miranda Stokkel was there to capture the day and (along with the couple) we couldn’t be happier. Scroll down for more…
THE VENUE “We wanted somewhere fresh and modern with outdoor space given our summer wedding. The giant deck at The Prince Hotel with views out to Port Phillip Bay sealed the deal. Having the ceremony and reception in the one venue was a non-negotiable [as] we wanted everything to be as easy as possible for us and our guests.”
THE INSPO “Our wedding was outside on a bright sunny deck in summer, so we wanted the overall vibe to reflect that. Everyone was there to have fun and party so we chose bright summer colours to get that vibe, nothing too wedding traditional. My bridesmaids all carried different bouquets of pinks and yellows to reflect their sunny personalities!”
FAVE DETAILS “Definitely the flowers. Flowers by Brett Matthew John absolutely nailed my brief of luxe, fun and contemporary, and the colours were perfect. I snuck up and had a peak at the venue before everyone arrived and literally couldn’t contain my joy over the flowers!”
THE DRESS “My dress was made by a Sydney designer, Amy of Alca Line Bride. My photographer Miranda told me about the designer at our first meeting when I explained what I was after. I wanted something modern and a bit different to a traditional gown. I looked at their instagram on my way home, saw the Darcy dress, and was immediately in love. I still dream about the sleeves!”
MEMORABLE MOMENTS “Walking down the aisle arm in arm with my dad, and seeing all our favourite people there to see us get married was unbeatable. Glen and I had done a first look and I was worried that my aisle walk wouldn’t be as special as Glen had already seen me in my dress, but I couldn’t have been more wrong!”
A WORD OF ADVICE “Lock in your key suppliers as early as possible! Everything else seemed to fall into place after that. And don’t sweat the little things, no one else will notice on the day.”
WE’RE GLAD WE… “Ended up doing our photos before the ceremony. We love that it gave us more time to celebrate with our friends and family without having to disappear and miss any of the party! Also, Miranda talked us into having a little sunset photo shoot on the deck which I was a bit reluctant about at first because I was set on not missing one minute of the celebrations. But it turned out to be such a special moment for us, our first time alone as a married couple and so great to step away from the madness and ground ourselves.”
STANDOUT VENDORS “Our photographer Miranda Stokkel was an absolute gem, we really clicked with her from our first meeting and she made us feel so comfortable. She captured our day perfectly. Amy from Alca Line Bride was also a dream to work with, and my dress fit like a glove! And Flowers by Brett Matthew John brought my floral dreams to life and absolutely nailed my colours.”
