You have to give a guy credit when he tries to surprise the un-surprise-able girlfriend, as self confessed ‘organisation freak’ Chloe tells us, her partner of 13 years had to think outside the box when it came to the proposal.
“In order to catch me off guard, Tom took me to a beer festival in Ballarat with our good mates.” After a day well spent (ie. swigging lagers), the couple bid their pals adieu, and embarked on their drive home, whilst Tom drove and Chloe eventually…fell…asleep…”only to wake up THREE HOURS from Melbourne in a tiny Otway town called Forrest! Tom had booked a secluded little farmhouse on a beautiful property.” The next morning the bride-to-be awoke to views of the picturesque landscape and a sign with the words, ‘I blood love you’ on them. That’s when Tom seised his moment, and some nine months later the couple had a wedding on their hands!
Knowing they wanted an indoor/outdoor affair, the duo set their sights on Butterland, a stunning venue north west of Melbourne. “It’s a place everyone just falls in love with. It was our favourite venue…we were lucky enough they had one date left for 2017,” said the bride, who also booked Alex of Motta Weddings to photograph the event. “Alex was like a friend on the day and took phenomenal photos that we will treasure forever.”
As expected, Alex did an incredible job of capturing those touching moments, Chloe adding, “We cannot go past the ceremony. There were laughs and happy tears for everyone who attended. It was honestly just so romantic, honest and genuine. We have never felt so much love on the day then what we did through the ceremony,” and of course the stunning Mariana Hardwick gown the bride rocked made her feel all the more special. “I’m a little conservative, but wanted something that was unassuming, sexy and the detailing on the dress was just amazing. The art deco feel is what I liked. It was classy, modern but also relaxed.”
When it came to advice for future Mr and Mrs, the pair had this to say when it comes to the planning, “don’t get caught up in the detail, but do the necessary; if you have the right elements it always work out!”
