After being engaged for a whopping two years, this duo tied the knot amongst the rocks in the gorgeous South Coast town of Kangaroo Valley, with the bride wearing a stunning Goddess By Nature gown, no less. One of our fave photographers, and HM Directory Vendors, Lauren Campbell was there to shoot all the details, and you don’t want to miss these flowers! So scroll down for all…

THE VENUE “We loved Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat because of the amazing natural bush site – the dreamy rock cathedral, the viewing platform overlooking Kangaroo Valley, even the paths linking each area together that were surrounded by lush greenery, moss-covered rocks and scenic backdrops. We also loved that there was extensive on-site accommodation for our guests, meaning we could spend more time with our family and friends the night before – we had a beer pong tournament and spent time singing around the fire pit.”

FAVOURITE DETAILS “Flowers by Gypsy Carmen – she really understood what we wanted and the overall aesthetic we wanted to create. The neon by Sketch & Etch created a feature wall above the velvet lounge which was great as a photo backdrop. The cake and food by Caterina in Kangaroo Valley – we had guests raving about how it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding! The velvet furniture from Hoorah Events and the candles and lighting. My maid of honour and I hand poured most of the candles in cut crystal vases, glasses and bowls we collected from various Vinnies stores. We hired drop down Edison bulbs from Hoorah Events who set this up amongst the floral and foliage canopy. The whole venue looked magical.”

THE DRESS “I had a really specific idea in mind, so each dress I tried on wasn’t perfect. When I saw the Goddess By Nature Vivienne gown online, I loved the style and the lace and considered flying to Brisbane from Sydney to try it on. However, [the owner] Elaine, posted a sample of the gown to Savvy Brides in Double Bay which was amazing! When I tried it on I just knew, it was everything I wanted. I was able to customise the lining and tulle colours and the subtle sequins gave the dress a bit of a glimmer. The floral applique was stunning. I kept in contact with Elaine and ordered a custom veil that had the same lace applique – she understood what I wanted and it matched perfectly with the gown.”

WE’RE GLAD WE… “Booked Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. That we had the banquet style food so everyone could choose what they wanted to eat and it felt like a big family dinner. Didn’t invest in smaller details that wouldn’t have been as memorable. Instead focused on the big things and statements – for me it was my gown, photographer, the food and of course flowers!”

STANDOUT VENDORS Lauren Campbell, our photographer, is lovely and understood that we wanted the photos to show the natural venue and that we loved candid shots. Her work is amazing! Clare from Gypsy Carmen definitely went above and beyond with the florals – we were blown away by what she created. She got the vibe and translated our vision so beautifully! And Todd Mayhew, our celebrant, made our ceremony so fun – the way he got our guests hyped up and ran the ceremony was great.”
