After Michael popped the question at one of his stand-up comedy gigs, these two crazy cats dived head first into planning their epic day. Together they collected over 100 second-hand plates, embroidered handkerchiefs for the groomsmen and made table place markers from Woody Allen film posters. They wrote speeches, arranged flowers and created crosswords, all whilst saving lives. Seriously.
You see, Antoinette and Michael are both doctors with not only brains but energy to burn. £Everything was infused with an aspect of our personal taste and style including the music, decorations and cars, says Antoinette, a lady who clearly loves colour. £Michael, a Woody Allen tragic, is especially proud of the Woody-Allen themed table markers and mock-film posters featuring photos of us from our engagement shoot?
Choosing to marry at Midginbil Hill Farmstay just shy of the Queensland border, Antoniette who organised Erin of Hope and Lace to help organise and style their big day tells us, £we wanted to get out of Brisbane over a long weekend, so everyone could relax and just focus on enjoying themselves, getting to know one another and celebrating. A barbecue on-site at Midginbil Hill Farmstay the night before the wedding ensured that everyone had a chance to mingle and kick back before the big day.
Having kept her gown hidden from Michael for over a year, Antoinette, who looked flawless thanks to EV Hair and Makeup, was unable to fully relax until the moment he finally got to see it, telling us £My dress was from Lover, and was one of my first wedding related purchases. I saw it online, loved it, and had it mailed to me within a month of getting engaged. I then had to spend the next year hiding it from Michael in our tiny apartment.
Thankfully, he thought it was the best surprise ever. £Antoinette emerging from my classic Peugeot and walking down the aisle to one of her favourite songs A Sunday Smile’ by Beirut, performed live by three of our young doctor colleagues was just amazing! says Michael of his favourite moment. But since she’s now taken (forever!), his advice to other couples keen on creating a day as wonderful as theirs is simple: £Engage Erin our wedding planner, Jess our photographer and Paul our celebrant. You can’t go wrong! Michael, we couldn’t agree more.
