It is no secret that here at Hello May we love a DIY wedding. So, when paired with an exotic destination like the YL Residence in Koh Samui, we get just a little bit excited! Photographed by the very talented Eric Ronald, the overseas union of graphic designer Tamarin and IT guru Steve, certainly channeled their desired festival and beach party vibe, with bright colours and a great atmosphere to match.
Together for 12 years before tying the knot, this loved up couple have had many an adventure together which showed in the personal touches of the day. Tam, who wore a Gwendolynne dress paired with Samantha Wills accessories, designed and screen printed their invitations, table names and thank you cards. “The table names all represented significant cities in our story where we met, lived, got engaged, etc and on the back of each card was its corresponding story,”
Photographer Eric said of his time with the couple, “I was made so welcome by Tamarin, Steve and all of their guests. It was like being on holiday with a bunch of new friends. The day before the wedding I scouted a few unusual locations for the portrait session including a half-built apartment building and scribbled down a little treasure map on a napkin. After the ceremony we left the picturesque beach behind and went on a little adventure following my map. I love that Tam and Steve trusted me enough to do this and I couldn’t ask for any more from a couple.”
