We love a bride and groom who know what they’re dong when putting together their big day. So when we Sally and Alistair’s images showed up in our inbox, styled by the bride herself, we knew we were in for a treat! Photographed by the wonderful Justin Aaron and set at Seafarm on the beautiful Central Coast, this couple’s special day was full of personal touches; pom poms and bunting included.
After a proposal at Maccu Piccu (which most hopeful brides would envy), this couple took a relaxed approach to planning their big day. Sally tells us, “The lead up to the wedding was pretty relaxed. The hardest part was finding the venue. Once we had the venue everything fell into place. We booked the venue in January and had the wedding in May so it was a pretty quick turn around.”
Wearing a stunning Rachel Gilbert dress, Sally styled a classic and relaxed theme filled with scattered flowers and candles. She says, “I used a combination of decorations that I love and have always wanted to use in a wedding.”
But, apart from creating a DIY wedding that has made even us at Hello May jealous, the couple say the ceremony (and a little alcohol) was their favourite moment of the day. “The ceremony was pretty special. The view over the hills just topped it off along with the decorations. We also had a cider bar set up which went down pretty well with the guests.”
