It’s always a delight to see a bunch of talented creatives join forces to bring a project to light, and this styled shoot, coordinated by Victorian stylist Mellyrain and shot by Blissful Love Photography at blank-canvas venue Mount Ophir, is no exception. We are swooning over this sunset-hued colour palette (d.r.e.a.m.y), the incredible florals, and chic stationery by one of our faves, A Tactile Perception. We also love anything our mates at Off The Hook are involved in.
“With a focus on all things colour, texture and magic moments”, this day is packed with pinnable details. Head below for a tonne of inpso and to hear from the team who made it happen…
MELLYRAIN
“Mount Ophir is a one of those venues that has stunning architecture and so much versatility in creating unique designs,” stylist & planner Melanie of Mellyrain says of what sparked the idea for the shoot. “The venue has breathtaking sunsets which was the inspiration to incorporate that coloured pallette for the overall design. I wanted to also include vendors who shared the vision and would create a fun yet romatically bold concept. We were lucky enough to also have an incredible sunset on the day too, which just topped off the overall vision.”
BLISSFUL LOVE PHOTOGRAPHY
“The venue was like a blank canvas, so Melanie’s vision really bought a lot of amazing vendors together to create something unique in the space,” says photographer Kelsey of Blissful Love Photography. “While I was shooting, I was inspired by the building’s architecture, by Kelly as a model and all of the life and colour. It was truly unique and so fun to play with the different elements of texture and design.”
ELLEN MAY PHOTOGRAPHY
When it came to capturing the shoot on film, the fab Ellen May was up for the challenge, and with an eye for and focus on beautiful detail, she totally nailed the brief. “Mellyrain had a vision that I knew I wanted to perfect. A mix of editorial posing and movement made for beautiful videos!” Ellen shares.
A TACTILE PERCEPTION
Ahhh, we just love everything this stationery designer does (case in point this epic styled shoot she pulled together). For designer Natalie, stationery is much more than pretty papergoods. Her detailed designs are thoughtful with loads of creative flair – when asked about the inspo behind what she produced for this sunset-hued shoot, she had this to say. “The shoot called for a blend of contemporary and creative elements, inspriring me to include hand-painted menus that matched the sunset colour palette. Bold yet romantic typography was a feature of the menus and place cards, also mirrored in the style of the welcome sign.”
TWIG & HYNES
“A whimsical, pastel sunset,” was the the vision for this showstopping florals, says Cathy of Twig & Hynes. “They were designed to complement the picturesque beauty of the venue as well as the natural beauty of our model Kelly. Ultimately, I was inspired by a fantastic collaboration with a group of amazing vendors.”
TEGAN’S CUSTOM CAKES
We’re loving the use of poppies on the stunning cake, which was inspired by, “a new current cake trend combined with the shoot’s stunning colour palette,” says Victorian-based baker, Tegan.
OFF THE HOOK
The legends from Off The Hook were also part of the day. These guys allow you to capture voice messages from your loved ones on a retro phone (in colour of choice) and then present them to you in an online gallery to keep. A super-fun idea that
