“She grew up tall and she grew up right with them Indiana boys on them Indiana nights…” Taking inspiration from Tom Petty and his muse Mary Jane, Tomboy Bride, our fashion editorial from issue seven, is all about taking risks and exploring the more masculine side of the wedding world.
With photography by Lara Hotz, hair and makeup by Liv Lundelius this shoot was largely inspired by the women we know who are legitimately terrified of tulle. Even just the thought of walking into a bridal boutique stocked with cupcake style skirts and sequins makes them nauseous.
It’s time to stop pretending we’re all the same and instead explore some other options – like the idea of wearing a jumpsuit on your wedding day. It’s possible to still look feminine and sexy on your day of good times, even if you’re not particularly girly. So go on, break the rules… not everyone has to be a princess bride.
