Happy hump day dear readers! We are celebrating by bringing you the latest launch from one of our fave Australian designers here at Hello May – none other than the super glam Georgia Young Couture. Thanks to being created during the hardcore COVID-19 Melbourne lockdowns, the designer has dubbed this collection the “ultimate iso project” and we couldn’t agree more.
Literally launching this second/ minute/ hour…the brand spanking new collection is called Gertrude and while being true to the brand (structured in form and style with luxe fabrics to boot) you will find everything from off the shoulder, figure-hugging dresses with dramatic necklines to deep v-necks and voluminous skirts – the cool factor shows in all the details (think tailored sleeves a little longer than you would expect and textures and finishing touches to die for). Oh, and it would be just plain silly of us to not bring your attention to the incredible jumpsuit – complete with wide leg pants, a square neckline and tulle on tap.
“This collection explores the notion of encapsulating all that she was; whilst celebrating others to feel the same sense of freedom and inclusion. Each gown is named after strong childhood memories. Things that take me back to that original pillar of the family, Gertrude.”
This collection is available in all sizes, made to order in the designer’s Melbourne studio and shipped Worldwide. You’ll also find the gowns in some of our favourite bridal boutiques on Australia’s East Coast, exclusively stocked at Love Marie Bridal Boutique for Sydney brides and if you’re a Brisbane babe, you can make an appointment at Sphere Bridal Gallery, stat.
Finally, if, like us, you fall in love with the label, you can find Georgia Young’s last collection (the lovely Pink Lemonade) here and more details on the brand as well as real brides we have published wearing her gowns, here. Phew! Now scroll on down…
