We see our fair share of new bridal collections here in the Hello May office. Like, so so many (as you can probably imagine). And honestly, they are all fab – we never met a wedding ‘fit we didn’t froth. But, folks, the latest drop from Alca Line Bride, entitled Embrace… well, we have no words. We’ll find some though, because, ooft, this is a release that simply must be written about.
When the oh-so-very talented Alca Line creative director Amy Clyne gave us a sneak peek and we first set our lucky little peepers on this delicious collection, every single gosh-darn piece gave us a legitimate out-loud ‘wow’ moment (so many audible gasps at HM HQ). It’s whimsical, it’s playful, it’s bold and alluring, and honestly, it’s like nothing we’ve seen before – yet still has that trademark Alca Line vibe about it that we can’t get enough of.
With 14 new looks, this is the designer’s first drop in two years and, clearly, great things take time. The collection features all the fun and fab elements we know and love from the brand – think polka-dot tulles, oversized sequins, scalloped trims, detachable sleeves and ofc the label’s signature pops of colour (although how anyone is meant to choose just one from the dreamy tones of peony pink, lavender, peach and silver is seriously beyond us. Is having four wedding dresses a thing?)
All of Alca Line’s pieces are handcrafted in the Sydney studio and there’s already a host of trunk shows lined up with their stockists to make sure brides around the country can get their hands on these pieces asap, kicking off with Hope X Page (September 8-11) in Sydney’s south, then hitting Melbourne’s Bluebell Bridal (Sept 16-17), NOA Bridal in Perth (November 3-6) and finishing up in Northern NSW at Tamworth’s Homestead Road Bridal Co. (November 17-20). Prices range from $1500-$5700 and you’ll find sizing from 6-16.
Okay, that’s enough ranting from us about how phenom this collection is (because frankly, the pics by talented photog Matt Godkin tell the story better than we ever could). Allow us to introduce you to Alca Line Bride’s 2022 offering, Embrace.
