You already know how you want the day to feel. My job is to protect that.
Based in Sydney, I photograph weddings with the same approach I bring to everything I shoot. I stay close to what’s happening and step in with direction only when it earns its place. Years of directing commercials taught me to stay calm when it counts, and a wedding has one take and no reset.
In practice that means I’m easy to have around. I read a room quickly and work quietly, so most of the day you’ll barely notice me there. I’m not going to run your timeline or line everyone up for a list of poses. I’d rather stay out of the way of the thing you’re actually there for.
When it’s time for portraits I’ll guide you, plainly and without much fuss, then hand the day back. Fifteen minutes, usually. Enough to come away with something real, not so long that you lose the party.
I work across digital and 35mm film, for couples who care about the photographs holding up in ten years, not just the week after. They want someone who knows when to talk and when to disappear.
If that sounds like you, let’s talk.
