Raquel Pires Photography

Raquel Pires Photography blends editorial style with emotionally driven storytelling. Based in Sydney and photographing celebrations across Australia and Europe, she captures weddings with old money aesthetic that feels effortless, soulful, and deeply personal.

Raque Pires’s approach is intuitive and human-centred. Directing moments when it is needed but also creating space for them to unfold naturally. The result is imagery grounded in emotion, movement, atmosphere, and genuine connection.

Inspired by a blend of European sophistication, Australian ease, and Brazilian soul, her work speaks to couples who value meaningful experiences over performance. Each gallery is thoughtfully curated to preserve not only how the day looked, but how it felt.

Her editing style is clean, natural, and timeless, using true-to-life tones, soft contrast, and an understated approach to colour designed to age beautifully over time.

Raque Pires offers tailored wedding collections across Australia and internationally, with experience photographing celebrations in Paris, Mallorca, Venice, Costa Brava, Frankfurt, India, and Brazil.

FAQ

We’re not naturally comfortable in front of the camera. Can you help?

Absolutely. Most of my couples say exactly the same thing. My approach is less about posing and more about creating an experience where you can relax, connect and be yourselves. Through gentle guidance, meaningful prompts and a calm presence, I help you forget about the camera and focus on each other. The result is a collection of images that feel natural, elegant and genuinely reflective of your relationship—capturing not just how your wedding looked, but how it felt.

How would you describe your wedding photography style?

My work sits at the intersection of editorial refinement and documentary storytelling – grounded in emotion, movement and genuine human connection, capturing moments as they naturally unfold while guiding couples with subtle elegance when needed. The result is a timeless and understated form of luxury – effortless, soulful and deeply personal.

Why is wedding photography such an important investment?

Long after the flowers have faded and the cake has been eaten, your photographs are what remain. They become part of your family history—preserving not only how your wedding looked, but the people, emotions and fleeting moments that made it unforgettable. Great photography allows you to relive your day for decades to come.

What is your approach to wedding photography?

I take a human-centred, experience-driven approach to photography. She believes the most powerful images come from trust, presence, and genuine connection.
With a discreet and intuitive presence, she carefully observes, steps in when guidance is needed, and creates space for authentic moments to unfold naturally. Her goal is not only to document how your wedding looked, but to preserve how it felt.

How much does wedding photography cost and do you offer packages?

Raquel offers tailored collections rather than fixed packages. Each proposal is thoughtfully curated around the couple’s celebration, location, timeline, and priorities.
Investment reflects a premium, highly personalised experience, with bespoke proposals prepared following an initial consultation.

How far in advance should we book a wedding photographer in Australia?

For weddings, booking 9–18 months in advance is recommended, particularly for peak seasons and destination celebrations.
Limited availability may occasionally be available for last-minute enquiries, depending on the date and location.

How do we book your wedding services?

Couples may enquire via the contact form on raquelpiresphotography.com. After the initial enquiry, couples are invited to share a few details about their celebration and availability. A 45-minute video consultation is then scheduled to connect, discuss the vision for the day, and review dates and availability before a tailored proposal is prepared.

Do you work with a second photographer?

Yes, when appropriate. For larger weddings, multi-day celebrations, or more complex timelines, I collaborate with carefully selected second photographers who share her aesthetic, discretion, and approach. This ensures cohesive and seamless coverage throughout the event.

When will we receive our photos?

A curated sneak peek gallery is delivered within five days of the wedding. Full wedding galleries are typically delivered within 8–10 weeks, allowing each story to be carefully edited and curated with the attention it deserves.

As a Sydney wedding photographer, do you travel for destination weddings?

Based in Sydney, I photograph weddings across Australia and internationally — travel is an integral part of my work, and I’ve documented celebrations throughout Europe, South America and beyond. Previous destinations include Paris, Venice, Mallorca, Costa Brava, Frankfurt, India and Balneário Camboriú, Brazil. For destination weddings, please get in touch for a custom travel proposal.
