Hi! I’m Sophie, the colour-obsessed flower tragic behind Little Triffids, a Riverina wedding florist with a love of all things whimsical.

Wedding flowers should feel like you – only with more petals. Whimsical and gardenesque, my style is all about seasonal blooms, delicious colour combos and flowers with personality. Think romantic, but never boring.

I’m a bit of a garden nerd and sustainability is at the heart of what I do. Working with the seasons and sourcing beautiful Australian-grown flowers, especially those grown in the Riverina, is super important to me. I’ve also ditched the floral foam in favour of more earth-friendly mechanics.

Before flowers, there was theatre. My background in the performing arts means I’m just as happy dreaming up an ambitious floral installation as I am getting stuck into the nitty-gritty of making it happen. I love transforming spaces and creating a little floral drama (pun absolutely intended). And I make sure every last detail is taken care of.

I know wedding planning can feel like a full-time job. That’s why I bring plenty of organisation, clear communication and practical know-how to the party.. Whether you have a Pinterest board bursting at the seams or absolutely no idea where to start, I’ll help you find your floral feet and turn your ideas into something wonderful.

From the bouquet you can’t stop staring at to the ceremony installation that makes your guests go WOW, I’m here to make your wedding flowers feel fresh, personal and wonderfully stress-free.

FAQ

How far in advance should I book?

We take bookings up to two years in advance. If you’re getting married between September and November, or March and April, the sooner you book, the better! These are our most popular times of year. Most couples book around a year in advance.

How far do you travel for weddings?

I’m based in Wagga Wagga and love working in the gorgeous venues (and beautiful farms and homesteads) across the Riverina and regional NSW. I’ve flowered weddings and events in Sydney, Adelaide, Canberra and further afield. However, my main work is in the regions, near my beautiful floral shop and my family!

What is sustainable floristry?

We’re proud to avoid toxic, non-biodegradable floral foam in all our arrangements. We also avoid dyed and chemically preserved flowers, compost all our green waste and recycle everything we can. We endeavour to use Australian-grown flowers and choose locally grown blooms as much as possible!

Do I need to know about wedding flowers to book you?

Not at all! All you really need is your date and venue β€” we’ll guide you through the rest. That said, if you have an idea of the colours you love or how you want your day to feel, that’s all we need to start crafting a floral design that reflects you both perfectly. No flower knowledge required!

Why do wedding flowers cost more?

Wedding flowers are a bespoke design service, tailored to your day, your space and your story. Think of it as the difference between choosing a ready-made piece and commissioning a designer to create something entirely your own. You’re investing not just in beautiful blooms, but in the creative vision, artistry and experience that bring it all together.

Behind the scenes are hours of sourcing premium, seasonal flowers and developing a cohesive design and logistics plan. We also condition every stem and carefully create, deliver and install your flowers.

It’s about more than flowers. It’s a thoughtful, stress-free experience and a considered floral story that elevates your celebration β€” captured in your photographs and remembered long after the last petal falls.
