Baaby

Baaby is a contemporary bridal label creating modern heirloom pieces for brides who want to do things differently. Our silk wedding dresses are handmade to order in our Melbourne studio. Each gown is crafted by artisan dressmakers using premium 100% silk. Each gown combines timeless craftsmanship with avant-garde silhouettes, creating a piece you’ll treasure long after your wedding day.

Baaby founder Amelia believes dressing up should be thoughtful, and that every wedding dress should feel as personal as the person wearing it. By producing every piece to order, we minimise waste. It gives every bride the opportunity to create something uniquely their own. Many styles can be customised in colour, length and fit. As a result, every gown and bridesmaid dress feels deeply personal.

Inspired by unapologetic romance and modern femininity, our collection celebrates individuality rather than trends. You’ll find sculptural bows, billowing silk organza skirts, elegant draping and refined details throughout the collection.

From intimate celebrations to grand destination weddings, Baaby creates silk wedding dresses and bridesmaid pieces.
Each design is made for brides who value exceptional craftsmanship, natural fibres and effortless elegance.

Every piece is proudly handmade in Melbourne from premium 100% silk. The result is a gown that’s beautiful to wear and impossible to forget.

FAQ

Where are your gowns made?

Every Baaby garment is handmade to order in our Melbourne studio by our skilled dressmakers.

Are you garments made from real silk?

Yes! Every Baaby piece is made from either 100% dupion silk or 100% silk organza. We use 100% silk for its beautiful natural qualities, exceptional drape and luxurious feel. It photographs beautifully, and unlike polyester, it remains breathable and comfortable to wear throughout your wedding day.

How long will my order take?

Please allow 6-8 weeks from the time you purchase for your order to ship. If you need your garment sooner we can always try to accommodate rush orders.

Can I try before I buy? Where can I try on?

Yes! You can book a complimentary private fitting with Baaby founder Amelia at our Melbourne studio. During your appointment, you’ll explore styles, discuss your ideas and have your measurements taken for the perfect fit or a custom size. If you’re not based in Melbourne, we also offer personalised online fittings. We recommend ordering complimentary fabric swatches so you can experience the fabric and colours before making your decision.

Do you offer returns?

Due to the nature of our made-to-order and custom order items, they are not eligible for exchange or refund. We always recommend booking a fitting (online or at our Melbourne studio), ordering complimentary fabric swatches, and emailing us with any fit questions before placing your order. We’re always happy to help.

Some of our styles are ready-to-wear, meaning they are held in limited quantities and may be eligible for return. This will always be clearly stated on the individual product page, so you’ll know whether your garment is made-to-order or ready-to-wear before purchasing.

What sizes do you offer?

We offer sizes 4–20, with custom sizing available for sizes 20+.

Do you offer custom lengths and colours?

Yes. We offer custom lengths on most gowns and skirts at no additional cost. We can also create your garment in any colour shown online, or produce a custom colour (additional fees apply).

Do you offer alterations?

We do not offer in-house alterations at this stage but can happily recommend experienced and qualified alterations places in Melbourne.

How do I get my final garment?

We don’t currently offer in-house alterations, but we’re happy to recommend experienced alteration specialists in Melbourne.
We offer free express shipping on all Australian orders over $300 AUD.Alternatively, you’re welcome to collect your garment from our Fitzroy studio.
