What first drew you to the world of wedding styling, and what keeps you passionate?
Twelve years ago, when I was planning my own wedding, wedding styling services barely existed. I was working as a high-end fashion stylist at the time and wanted that same level of care and creativity applied to my wedding, but I couldn’t find it. Shortly after I launched Lola’s Lemonade Stand, initially styling drink stations for events, which quickly evolved into full event and wedding styling as client demand grew. In 2017, I began offering wedding styling formally, the exact service I’d been searching for years earlier. That’s when The Stylist’s Guide was born. This year, we’re celebrating nine years in business!
Where do you turn for ideas and inspiration when styling a wedding?
Having come from a fashion background, we heavily draw inspiration from runway trends, editorial shoots, and current fashion aesthetics, thinking about colour palettes, textures, and the finer details. Beyond that, we look at international brands and events for unique ideas. Most importantly, we look to the couple themselves, their personalities, stories, and vision are always our biggest source of inspiration.
What wedding trends are you currently crushing on, and are there any overdone trends you’d gently steer couples away from?
We’re obsessed with all of the bold colours coming through this season, compared to the more pared back styling we’ve seen over the past few years. Particularly the use of vintage tones – think, mustard, burnt orange and lime green. This may be controversial… but material draping is overdone! If a couple loves it, we will try to find new and unique ways to incorporate it.
What’s the one thing you’re most proud of when it comes to The Stylist’s Guide?
We’re most proud of our approach. Being from an Italian background, the most important thing to us is that our clients feel looked after, from the moment they meet us to after their wedding day. We aim to go above and beyond to ensure they feel like they’re part of the family, and their event is styled exactly how they envisioned. The feedback we receive from almost every client reflects this, which always gets us in the feels, even after almost a decade of doing this!
How would you describe your signature style or approach when planning and styling weddings?
Our signature style blends elegance with personality. We focus on creating thoughtful, cohesive looks that feel curated but never forced, combining beautiful details, unexpected touches, and a sense of storytelling to make each wedding feel truly unique to the couple.
How far ahead should couples get in touch with you to make sure their dream wedding comes to life?
The sooner the better! We generally start to book out six to 12 months in advance depending on the service, so getting in early is always our preference.
Any insider tips or wedding styling secrets you love sharing with couples to make their day extra special?
Make sure you stick together on your wedding day! It’s so easy to get pulled in every direction on your day, but experiencing the day side-by-side will make it even more special. Tell your planner your priorities in advance, and we will be there to make sure you get to experience your day, your way.
