Tell us a bit about the brand... We create timeless, classic gowns with a unique modern twist.
What is an average work day like for you? No two days are the same – that is for sure! They often include meetings with lace stockist and overseas calls. Most of our laces and silks are exclusive from Europe so we work with them directly. Lots of tea, lots of music and lots of laughs with the ladies in the work room. I can genuinely say our gowns are made with love and run on multiple cups of tea.
Can you talk us through your collections? We have released four collections of far. I really focused on combining strong, feminine silhouettes with modern detailing and translucent accents.
Which style of gown is most popular? We have seen a huge move towards sleek, fitted gowns with detailed backs.
Where are your dresses made? How long does the process take? Our gown are 100% created in Australia. Everything from cutting the silks to placing laces and fittings is all done in Sydney. This also gives us the unique ability to change a gown or customise one completely to suit a brides tastes and figure. We love to have eight months to create a gown but recently made a dress in three weeks!
Where are you located? Our boutique is in a beautiful converted stables at 2C Heeley Street Paddington, Sydney.
Talk to us about numbers… Our gowns start from $4000 and go up over $10,000 for more intricate and custom made designs. Most our our collection is between $6000 and $8000 but we can tailor the gown to suit a preferred price range.
Do brides need an appointment to visit the Moira Hughes showroom? All of our meetings are by appointment. This allows us to dedicate the full hour and the whole boutique to each bride. Not only does this give our clients the best experience possible but helps her feel comfortable and focused without other distractions.
